With the introduction of LEELA, we are not only adding a new collection to Handed By, but also a new production country: India.
After many years of working with our partners in China and Vietnam, we are very happy to expand our network with a group of makers in India. This is where our new LEELA pouches are handmade.
From fabric to LEELA
The LEELA collection consists of colourful pouches and toiletry bags made from 100% cotton. Each design combines soft fabrics, distinctive patterns and surprising colour combinations.
Use LEELA as a toiletry bag, for your small essentials on the go, or as a practical inner bag inside your Handed By shopper. With so many different colours and designs, there is a favourite for everyone.
Handmade by women in local villages
Behind every LEELA pouch are people and craftsmanship. In India, small groups of women in local villages work together on our collection. The fabrics are carefully cut to size and then sewn together step by step. From the pattern and zipper to the final finishing touches, each item passes through several skilled hands before it is complete.
The women work in good working conditions and receive a fair wage for their work. Getting to know the people behind our products gives each collection even more meaning to us.
